MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. | Florida Memorial University Athletics has announced the launch of the 1879 FMU Athletics Roar Fund. Created to Raise Opportunities for Athletic Resource, the 1879 FMU Athletics Roar Fund is the Athletics Department's official giving initiative dedicated to enhancing the student-athlete experience through scholarships, resources, academic success, health and wellness, and competitive opportunities.
"What a tremendous opportunity we have to come together as one Lion Nation to invest in the future of our student-athletes," said Director of Athletics, Chandra Dorsey-Felton. "Now more than ever, we need your support to provide our student-athletes with the resources they need to succeed."
Named in honor of FMU's founding year, the 1879 FMU Athletics Roar Fund serves as the official giving campaign dedicated to enhancing the student-athlete experience across all athletic programs. Contributions to the fund will directly support scholarships, team travel, equipment, nutrition, academic resources, and facility enhancements. The campaign encourages alumni, supporters, corporate partners, and friends of the University to make an annual contribution that will help elevate FMU Athletics.
The Roar Fund officially launched during the FMU Athletics Benefit Event, where the Florida Memorial University Palm Beach County Alumni Chapter demonstrated its commitment to FMU Athletics by presenting a $500 donation to the fund. The contribution marked an exciting beginning for the initiative and showcased the continued support of FMU alumni in advancing the Athletics Department.
