Florida Memorial University Names Anderson as Co-Associate Head Men's Basketball Coach

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. | Florida Memorial University has hired Antwann Anderson as co-associate head men's basketball coach. Anderson brings extensive experience in collegiate coaching, recruiting, player development and athletic administration.

"I'm truly honored and grateful for the opportunity to join the incredible staff at Florida Memorial University," said Anderson. "This opportunity is especially meaningful because it allows me to coach alongside my family—Coach Anthony 'Coach Jr' Anderson Jr and Coach Anthony Anderson Sr. Being able to work together while pouring into the lives of our student-athletes is something I don't take for granted. I'm excited to be part of a program with such a rich tradition, surrounded by coaches who are committed to developing young men on and off the court. I look forward to building meaningful relationships, helping our players reach their full potential, and doing everything I can to help us succeed."

"Antwann brings a wealth of knowledge across the board," said head men's basketball coach Anthony Anderson. His experience and knowledge of what we want, what we need, and how we need it is exactly what we need in this situation. Prior to FMU, Anderson served as Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at the University of Fort Lauderdale, where he helped guide the Eagles to a 17-10 record, an NCCAA National Tournament appearance and a No. 6 national ranking. He coordinated the team's offensive system while overseeing recruiting, player development and the academic progress of student-athletes.

Before returning to Fort Lauderdale, Anderson spent four seasons as Head Men's Basketball Coach and Assistant Athletic Director at Atlantis University. He founded the men's basketball program, compiled a 42-18 overall record and led the program to its first USCAA National Tournament appearance while earning multiple Top-8 national rankings. His administrative responsibilities included student-athlete admissions, academic advising, financial aid support and athletic department operations.

Recognized for his commitment to developing the complete student-athlete, Anderson emphasizes excellence in recruiting, player development, academics and leadership. His coaching philosophy is centered on discipline, accountability and fostering a championship culture.

Anderson earned a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Psychology from Central Connecticut State University.
