FMU falls to Webber in closing minutes 1-0 in Season Opener

BABSON PARK, Fla. | Florida Memorial University dropped a tight season opener to Webber 1-0 in Babson Park. FMU and WIU kept going back and forth all match long before WIU found the match-scoring goal in the 82nd minute to seal the game.
 
Goalkeeper Isabella Rueda played the first half, allowing zero goals and one save. Junior Isabelle Mapanao played the second half, allowing one goal and one save. Teammates Lumturie Berushi, Rudo Marufu, and Alaira Handy each had a shot for the Lions.

The loss drops FMU to 0-1 on the year.

The Lions return to action Thursday, August 27, for the home opener against NCAA DII opponent Barry. Kickoff is slated for 11 a.m. at Dr. Lester Brown Park.
