Gabriel Zapata joined the FMU men's soccer team in Fall 2026.

A native to Miami, Fla., Zapata previously attended Miami-Dade College for one year. She graduated from Mater Lakes Academy High School in 2025, where he played on the soccer team for three years. He earned multiple accolades and achievements, including:

Top Assister with 20 goals and 12 assists in 17 games his Senior Season

Zapata played for Paracuellos FC in Madrid, Spain for two years.

Zapata chose FMU because is a great opportunity to continue playing soccer while getting his degree. His favorite part about FMU is being around his teammates and being part of the soccer family.
